March is Youth Art Month
The Jefferson Arts Council is excited to announce the Third Annual Youth Arts Month Exhibit in the Fire Hall Gallery, running March 6-29, with a reception on Sunday, March 13, 2-4pm.
This is one of our largest shows and receptions of the year, with much enthusiasm by the county’s students, parents, grandparents, instructors, and community at large.
The Third Annual Youth Art Month Exhibit includes work from public schools in Jefferson County. Coordinated by Sam Nelson, Art Educator at Washington High School, and Judy Chesley, Art Educator at South Jefferson Elementary School, the exhibit focuses on two-dimensional works, K-12. The catered reception will be March 13, 2-4pm.
“Each year, grades K-12 are featured in the show and all Jefferson County Public School Art Educators are invited to provide 4 pieces for display. The show provides a wonderful way for us to showcase the talented young artists in our schools and share our gifts with the community!” says Judy Chesley.
The Fire Hall Gallery is located in Downtown Charles Town, inside the Visitor’s Center at 108 N. George St. The Gallery is shared with the Washington Street Artists’ Cooperative, and open seven days a week, 10am-5pm.
